Paul Constable is a Registered Psychologist with over 15 years experience in private practice. He holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Newcastle.
Paul spent 7 years working as a psychologist in acute psychiatry settings, working with populations who suffer from mental health disorders coupled with substance abuse (Dual Diagnosis). Paul also spent 3 years working for the Centre of Mental Health Studies as a research assistant, researching areas relating toschizophrenia in General Practice, drug and alcohol dependency and tobacco use in mental health populations. Paul has contributed to several papers published in international psychology research publications.
Paul has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults in a number of special interest areas including drug and alcohol use, adult male issues, anxiety disorders including PTSD, OCD and GAD, trauma and related issues for Australian defence force veterans, forensic report writing, adjustment disorders surrounding workplace injuries , weight loss assessments and psycho-oncology.
Outside of Denison Practice, Paul consults at Newcastle Private Hospital in both oncology and rehabilitation. He also practices at a clinic in Anna Bay in order to better serve the mental health needs of the Port Stephens community.
